Schist is a lesser known stone that has a naturally occurring sparkle. It is a metamorphic rock comprising mostly of quartz and mica minerals which have grains that are large enough to see with the naked eye. The sparkly aesthetic of the stone comes from mica minerals, which are nature’s glitter.
Due to its attractive sparkle and the fact that it is a strong stone due to the presence of quartz content within its structure, schist is widely popular in the use of countertop slabs, feature walls, and landscaping.
