LIMESTONE

Limestone has been popular for a long time for its pleasant appearance of earth-tone colours that is suitable for a wide range of environments.

It is made up mostly of calcite, revealing little graining or crystalline texture giving it a smooth, honed, granular surface or polished look.
They are known as sedimentary rocks as they are formed by the breakdown of other rocks. Limestone are usually loosely held together and may differ in porosity from marble. Apart from the fact that limestone is long lasting, it makes an excellent building stone as they are it can be carved easily and is typically used for flooring, wall cladding, vanity tops, countertops, furniture and ornate stonework.
